Great Western Brewing celebrates 20th Anniversary by thanking its customers

Great Western Brewing is celebrating its 20th anniversary of brewing great beers for people on the prairies, and to celebrate, they’re thanking all of their customers for their support over the years with the introduction of a special 20th Anniversary 15 pack.

“Our customers have told us they want the big refreshment of Great Western beers in an even bigger box,” said Ron Waldman, President and CEO of Great Western. “So this being our 20th Anniversary seemed like a great time to introduce our new 15 can packs and 24 bottle packs.”

The 15 pack is being launched as Great Western’s “20th Anniversary pack”, with a thank you message and every employee’s signature covering every square inch of the inside of the pack. In addition, the 15 packs will be introduced at a special price – so prairie beer loves can enjoy 15 beers for the price of 14.

“We owe our success to the people of the prairies – our partners, our supporters, our communities, and of course our drinkers have all made the last twenty years great,” Waldman added. “Offering our drinkers 15 beers for the price of 14 is just our little way of saying thanks for 20 great years. It’s like they’re having a beer on us.”

In addition, Great Western Brewing has also launched an Anniversary photo album on their website, www.greatwesternbrewing.com, with images they’ve captured of people helping celebrate their various 20th Anniversary events and activities.

The Great Western Brewing Company itself was established in 1989 – but the physical brewery traces it’s history all the way back to 1927. When Carling / Molson were planning on closing it down and selling it for parts in the late 1980’s, an employee group saw an opportunity, bought the brewery, and the Great Western Brewing Company was born. The tenacity of the prairie spirit prevailed and this employee group has gone on to brew some of the best beers in the world, in addition to winning numerous awards at international brewing competitions.

Each variety, Great Western Premium Lager, Great Western Pilsner, and Great Western Light, has been acknowledged on the world stage; in fact just recently Great Western Light was awarded the Best Standard Lager in the World (yes, best in the world!) – at the World Beer Awards.
