Great Western Brewing helps raise $26,600 for Crisis Nursery

Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser week brings community together for good cause

Founding sponsors, Great Western Brewing and Maple Leaf Consumer Foods, together with Matching Fund sponsor, Potash Corp, are pleased to announce the most successful Pancake Breakfast Week Fundraiser in its 18 year history. The outpouring of support from the local community helped raise $26,600 for Crisis Nursery.

“We’ve known for a long time that our customers and business partners care for our community as deeply as we do,” said Ron Waldman, President and CEO of Great Western Brewing Company. Waldman added, “All the volunteers worked so hard to put this together – so to get such an out pouring of support for such a worthy local cause makes it very rewarding for everyone.”

The event success depends on the support of the many, many volunteers and the corporate support of Great Western Brewing Company, Maple Leaf Consumer Foods, Dawn Foods, Dover Industries, Sobey's, Van Houtte Coffee Services, Mott's Canada, Culligan Water, Handyman Special Events, Saskatoon Wildlife Federation, as well as the welcomed media support of The Star Phoenix, Wired 96.3, The Bull, CJVR, Rock 102, and C95.

Crisis Nursery is a residence that provides a second home for children during a family crisis or emergency. If there is no alternate care available, parents may leave their children while the problem is being resolved. Offering a safe, homelike environment, the nursery is a service for the entire family. The Crisis Nursery operates with financial assistance from Saskatchewan Social Services, and from the donations of time and money from citizens, service clubs, foundations and church organizations.
