Great Western Brewing Company has added a refreshing new beer to its Great Western line up this summer with the launch of Great Western Pilsner Light. The first new varietal in years to the Great Western family, Great Western Pilsner Light is delivering exactly what plenty of Saskatchewan beer drinkers have been asking for in a beer – smoother, more refreshing taste.

“We’ve been listening to what a lot of Saskatchewan beer drinkers have been asking for,” says Ron Waldman, CEO of Great Western Brewing. Waldman continued, “It should come as no surprise that the light beer segment is healthy and growing, and light beers collectively making up over 25% of all beer sales in Saskatchewan. But here in the prairies, beer drinkers are also renowned for their love of beers with pilsner style character and taste. Today, I can proudly say that the new Great Western Pilsner Light offers Saskatchewan beer drinkers the best of both worlds – in one bottle.”

Viv Jones, Brewmaster at Great Western Brewing adds, “Like every Great Western beer we brew, we can take the time to extra-age our beers, making them smoother, more refreshing, and ultimately more drinkable than anyone imagined possible.” Jones adds, “What makes the new Great Western Pilsner Light so special is that it offers the light and crisp taste that light beer drinkers seek, with the added plus that this beer also has a true pilsner character.”

“At Great Western, we made a move in the last year to extra age our Great Western family of beers. Yes it takes more time and costs us a bit more, but at the same time, we also know that extra aging really delivers a much smoother and more refreshing beer – which is exactly what beer drinkers have been asking for,” Ron Waldman says. “With the launch of Great Western Pilsner Light we hope beer lovers take note that we’ve really dialed up refreshment to a whole new level with a taste that’s one-of-a-kind. With it’s light and crisp taste combined with it’s true pilsner character, we believe that Great Western Pilsner Light is quite possibly the most refreshing beer in the world.”
